Education Opens Doors Selected as a Dallas Mavericks Foundation Beneficiary

Education Opens Doors was selected as one of the eight Dallas Mavs Foundation charities for the Chime for a Cause initiative together with Chime.  Among many other efforts, money donated through the initiative will provide support towards financial education, business skill building, breaking the cycle of poverty and addressing the historic and contemporary effects of racism.

“The Dallas MavericksMavs Foundation and Chime, the leader in U.S. Challenger banking and the Mavericks’ official Jersey Patch sponsor, have launched Chime in for a Cause, a new initiative that will use the NBA relaunch to raise funds and awareness for eight local charities. As part of the Mavs’ and Chime’s on-going efforts to address social injustice, racial inequities and financial literacy, a $500 donation will be made to a local Mavs Foundation charity for each free throw the Mavs make during each seeding game night.

“We have a longstanding history of making a difference for others and this initiative is just another big way the Mavs organization is stepping up,” said Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall. “Our players have been outstanding free throw shooters and we can’t wait to see how much money we can donate each night. Get ready, I’m hoping for really big checks for these amazing non-profits.”
