education opens doors

Meet Bianca. Bianca, an EOD alumna, is now a recent graduate from Booker T. Washington High School and is currently a Freshman at The University of San Francisco, where she is pursuing a degree in engineering. Bianca’s story starts with her mom, Jennifer, who grew up in a West Dallas neighborhood where education was not a priority. Jennifer knew she wanted more for Bianca. The EOD program was that solution, providing Bianca with support and a clear pathway to start planning her future.

“Education Opens Doors gave me the guidance, life skills, and knowledge to set a long-term goal and understand the process of how to get there, and take action in my day-to-day behaviors to make it possible,” said Bianca. That long-term goal is to attend a college in California, where she plans to pursue a degree in engineering. To this day, Bianca and her family credit EOD for preparing her early in her educational career, and they continue to utilize EOD resources today.
