Education Opens Doors Mission Wins Over the Audience at “One Up the Pitch”

Last night, months of preparation and planning at Education Opens Doors culminated at One Up the Pitch, a “sharks with hearts” pitch-style competition for nonprofits. Following our earlier participation in the United Way Ground Floor program, we were selected to take the stage alongside four other incredible organizations doing critical work in Dallas: CEO, First 3 Years, Scholarshot and Youth With Faces.

Jayda gave a strong pitch and clearly the audience agreed. As Fox 4 News reports, we won the $25,000 audience prize!

It’s exciting to see the work that these 5 organizations are doing get recognition in the local media. Congrats to Scholarshot for walking away with the Social Innovator of the Year Award!
